Stick, as a verb, is to hold something firmly by, or as if by, adhesion. It is to remain in place, situation or environment.
I have a few friends that stick by me through heartaches and trials and celebrate with me in times of triumph. When harsh words and actions from others leave my heart wounded my friends listen while reminding me of God’s faithfulness. During spiritual battles they show fervent charity with words of affirmation. At times I sin, I fall, and I have wrong attitudes. In this condition, I have friends who speak God’s truth in love. When I fear falling apart these friends make a difference.
My savior Jesus Christ makes the most difference. He holds me together when human help can’t. Only he can heal the wounds, give inner strength for the trials, and provide unspeakable joy.
I was born again over thirty years ago. Remembering the deep settled peace that flooded my soul at the moment of my conversion sustains me. God gave me His Spirit to reside within my soul and I am permanently sealed-saved forever. God’s saving work keeps me together as I journey through this life!
My friends are important and I thank God for those who stick, but above all I am stuck with Jesus. I remain in Him and He remains in me through every situation and circumstance that comes my way. I hope you are stuck safe in the Savior. God’s glue permanently sticks.

We are so blessed to be “stuck” with Jesus. Sometimes the term is used to describe our acceptance of something we’re not so thrilled about, but I’m overwhelmed with joy that Jesus loves me so much that we’re stuck together forever. Thank you, Lisa, for this joyful message.

As a former elementary school teacher, I fell in love with glue sticks. So much easier and less messy for first graders. Great analogy here with friends who stick by us and the One who sticketh closer than a brother.
I agree glue sticks are superior to the Elmer’s glue we used in school. Teaching Sunday School for years I used them often. And praise the Lord for sticky friends and a Savior who sticks! Thanks for your comment.
