In His Presence

My husband Michael and I recently went on a date. We ate out and shopped at the grocery store. This is far from the romantic dates I craved when we were younger, but we were together.

Our Marriage took years of living for me to learn the value of being in the presence of my mate. Marital bliss is not measured by expensive gifts, fancy attire, and romantic getaways, though all those things are nice. Something as simple as daily conversation, eating at an average restaurant, and finding sale items to purchase in the grocery store can be special. We often look for the dreamy dates while missing the meaningful moments of ordinary days.

Spending sweet time with Jesus every day holds more merit to me now than ever before. My love walk is not measured by miracle moments or goosebump occasions but rather by basking in the presence of my Savior. Prayer, Bible reading, writing, simple acts of service, and small tokens of kindness are pleasurable moments of everyday living.

I enjoy Spirit-filled church services where God’s presence is powerful and real. Hymns, testimonies, and preaching are part of the services where I attend church. Sometimes, we take in our surroundings to grow in faith, but other times, God’s Spirit moves in a mighty way. His presence brings overwhelming unity, peace, joy, and love in every service.

In the presence, of our mates and our Savior, there are no mundane moments but a life of pleasure.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

What a beautiful post for Valentine’s Day. It took me a while to learn to appreciate the everyday moments of marital bliss. Thanks for this sweet reminder.

It took me time to appreciate everyday moments as well. My husband is not romantic and struggles to communicate, so I strive to adapt. Michael shows love through service which is not my love language. Lol

The pleasure of daily walking with Jesus is often overlooked. Thank you for the reminder to find joy in the every day.

I agree, and I too need the reminder to find pleasure everyday-both in marriage and my walk with Jesus.
