Attorney and preacher, Dr. David Gibbs listened to live. 

     With ticket in hand, Gibbs and a fellow attorney were prepared to board a commercial flight. Against their better judgment they were persuaded by a private pilot to fly with him instead.  After ascending, the pilot informed the men he passed out when entering clouds and it was a cloudy day. With no prior experience, Gibbs was left to land the plane.

    With a feeble greeting from Gibbs to air traffic control the communication began. Gibbs was informed that he must listen and obey if he expected to land safely. Sweat rolled, but he listened to the sequence of instruction from the voice of an unseen man who knew how to land the plane. His willingness to obey brought him, and his friend, a safe landing.

     Later that night he received a knock on his motel door. The unseen instructor informed Dr. Gibbs that many in his situation failed to listen and follow instructions thus bringing death. God speaks through His word. Though we cannot see Him we can choose to listen.   

         Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned (Romans 5:12).

        But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).

        Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the  Father, but by me (John 14:6).

   Our eternal destiny is determined by whether or not we listen to and obey God’s voice. Take His truth by faith and believe to live. 

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
