And God said, Let there be light, and there was light. Genesis 1:3 KJV
I switched on the light but there was no light because the electricity was out. Without a power source the light could not shine.
God has all power. Because of this, when He spoke light into darkness, it existed. God divided His light from darkness on the earth. Light dispels darkness; therefore a clear distinction is made between light and darkness throughout the Word of God.
Saul carried letters to the synagogues in Damascus. These letters warranted him permission to find men and women of the way, bind them, and bring them to Jerusalem. But as he journeyed toward Damascus a great light suddenly shone about him, therefore Saul fell to the earth and heard God’s voice, asking why he persecuted Him. Jesus found Saul’s persecution of his follower’s offensive, and rebuked him for the offense. Saul trembled and willed himself to obey Jesus’ orders. Now physically blind, he went into the city to await further instruction.
God’s heavenly light separated the sinful darkness in Saul’s heart from His Spirit which filled Saul three days later. Saul believed, received his sight, and was baptized. Notably. Saul became Paul, who authored thirteen to fourteen New Testament books.
Only Jesus, the light of the world, possesses the power to convert man. His light shines into the sinful hearts of men and women bringing conversion to the soul. Have you experienced the life changing light of Jesus? If not, obey and believe!
