De-clutter

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27

My closet was too cluttered. Ill-fitting clothes had hung unworn far too long. Incidentally, I set to the task of pulling out things to get rid of, washing and ironing things to wear, and reorganizing the crazy clutter! It required repeated work to get the closet in acceptable order. I still have work to do and always will.

Our lives are often cluttered with unnecessary tasks and busy work. Indeed, we need God’s Word to examine ourselves. We need to get rid of any clutter hindering our walk with our Lord. Electronics, sports, attaining and taking care of worldly processions and extra-curricular activities often distract us, pulling us away from focus and worship worthy of Jesus. Lying aside weights ensure we run a better race while on earth.

Daily living is necessary as well as rest and recreation. We humans need a break from the lives we live. However, a balance is required in order to invest in our Christian walk, our family, our friends, and our jobs. Ladies, if you are like me this is a constant battle. Furthermore, balance is hard to find but it is attainable. I have always been too busy. Letting go of busy work and following God’s leadership was necessary to finding balance. It has taken me too many years, nevertheless God is helping me better balance my life to fulfill His will.

The best blessings do not come from activity in this world but rather from heavenly blessings. Clearly, spiritual blessings far exceed earthly clutter. How do we declutter? Prayer is the first step, listening to God’s answer and surrendering is the second step, and finally obedience is the third step. Let’s put off the old man and put on the new (Colossians 3:8-17).

We are responsible for clutter in our lives. One day I will bow before God and confess as will every human who has ever walked this earth. We will all give an account to Him on judgment day. Let’s be like King David who prayed:

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.  Psalm 139:23 &24

Too much clutter in our lives may hinder others from salvation and will hinder our service.

What’s in our closets?

Balance brings blessings.

Let’s declutter and serve.

WORDS OF TRUTH

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1

Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good. Proverbs 20:23

Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Ephesians 1:3

For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Let us not therefore judge one another anymore: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way. Romans 14:11-13
