Clothed in Shame
She was clothed in shame and nothing more. The critiquing clutch of religious men had caught her in the very act of adultery. They had brought her before Jesus and she was now the center of, what was likely unwanted attention. Humiliation must have surged through her entire body. Her heart probably ached, her mouth was likely parched and her cheeks must have stung from embarrassment due to the verbal accusations.
Jesus, What do You Say?
Moreover, she was compassed by her accusers, the Scribes and Pharisees. They begin to speak with judgment, “Master, Moses in the law commanded this adulterous woman be stoned. What do you say?” Jesus said nothing.
Jesus Responds
Nevertheless, Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground. He stood and replied, ” He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” Yet again, he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
One by One
As a result, from the eldest to the last her accusers left the scene. She was alone with Jesus. What would he do? He was a Jew; surely he would follow the letter of the law. Her fate was in His hands.
Grace
Immediately, Jesus took action and sealed her future. His Jewish eyes must have gazed intently into her Gentile eyes as He said. “Woman, where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee?” She then replied, “No man Lord.” Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” Jesus was gracious and kind. He assisted her in her time of need. He saved her from the brutal death of stoning and the condemnation of sin. Peace surely replaced her shame, as she stood in the place of grace.
Ladies, I have been guilty of pointing out the sins of others but who am I to do so when I have my own? God has shown me grace and saved my soul. He desires to do the same for other women.

WORDS OF TRUTH
We are all sinners.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
Have you been saved by grace?
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph. 2:8-9
Sin No More.
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. Romans 6:1 and 2a
