Harvest Fields

….Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. John 4:35b

Weary

Weary from His journey, Jesus sat on Jacob’s well. He was alone as His disciples had departed to buy food in the city.

Living Water

A Samaritan woman soon came to draw water and Jesus asked her for a drink. She was perplexed that a Jew with no watering pot would ask a Samaritan woman for water. Jesus tells her that he has living water and if she will take a drink, she will never thirst again. He was offering her water that would constantly spring up into everlasting life! That was enticing.

True Worship

The woman of Samaria desired Jesus’ water rather than the water she had drawn from the well. She wanted the water but Jesus bid for her to call her husband. She replied well in that she had no husband. Jesus knew of her past five husbands and of her current adulterous affair. She guessed Jesus to be a prophet. Jesus tells her the time has come that men must worship in Spirit and truth.

Messiah

She knew Messiah, called Christ, was to come. He would tell of all things. Jesus’ response of, “I that speak unto thee am He,” caused her to leave her watering pot and run to the city to tell of Jesus. She had met the promised deliverer. She was delivered from the condemnation and shame of her sin. Her spirit was refreshed with living water which compelled her to spread the good news to others! Many believed in Samaria.

Soul Harvest

Messiah was here and his message was clear. This message still holds true today. The fields are white and ready to harvest now, not later. Lost souls are plentiful, take a look. There is joy in sowing and reaping; do not get weary during harvest time. We must forgo our weariness and continue the work. The fields are ripe unto harvest.

WORDS OF TRUTH

Are you thirsty for living water (John 7:38)? Believe and receive!

Are you weary in well-doing (Gal. 6:9)? Don’t faint in due season, you will reap!

The harvest is plentiful, will you labor (Matt. 9:37)? There is joy in witnessing!
