CRY

Mary entered the crowded room. The stony stares from the elite religious men made her worn body shiver. Should she continue?

Mary needed to get to Jesus but would he be humiliated if she approached him? Like all the others he probably knew she had given her body to more men than she could remember….she could not go there.

She reached Jesus and fell at his dusty feet. She was making a mess of the Savior’s feet but she failed to stop the reservoir. The dam was broken and her tears spilled forth like rain from a dark cloud.

WASH

Mary looked into the compassionate eyes of Jesus. Gone were the stony eyes of all other men. Mary’s tears poured forth leaving muddy marks on Jesus’ feet. They soon disappeared leaving Jesus’s feet clean. In the process of washing Jesus’s feet, she has willed herself to him completely. Her heart and soul were his; she was washed. This was a happy day.

DRY

She reached for her long dark hair. The silky stands provided what she needed to dry the feet of Jesus. Oh, how she worshiped and adored him. No other man had treated her with such tender love and respect.

CLEAN

I remember the time when I fell at the feet of Jesus. He was not physically in the room but he was there nonetheless. I was desperate. I was a filthy, lost sinner. I cried out to him and told him if he did not save me I would never be saved and I would have to go to hell. Once I realized I could not do the work, it was then he washed me clean. My soul was flooded with his spirit and I felt clean from the inside out.

PURE

Like Mary, I am free from all guilt and condemnation. I am now washed in the pure, clear water of the Holy Spirit. Mary continued to follow Jesus and so do I. The pure living water in my soul still continues to spring up into everlasting life. Happy is the day Jesus washed my sin away
