Love Lifted Me

Sea, Wave, Submerged, To Bathe, Hand

“Love Lifted Me”, written in 1912 by James Rowe, carries a powerful message for all. The familiar words flow easily from the mouths of many believers, but do we retain them in our hearts?

     Sinking deep and stained within is the state of every man, woman, boy, and girl. Born sinners we are far from the peaceful shore. When we cry out to the Master of the Sea He will hear our despair. He will lift us from the waters and we will be safe.

     Have you tried all other means to reach safety only to be encompassed again by the waves of the world? God’s love will lift you when nothing else can.

     Give Jesus your heart, cling to Him, and live in His presence. Sing His praises. Jesus’ love is mighty and true and deserves our soul’s best song. Our faithful and loving service belongs to Him!

Souls in danger, look above,

Jesus completely saves;

He will lift you by His love

Out of the angry waves.

He’s the Master of the sea,

Billows His will obey;

He your Savior wants to be-

Be saved today.

       Lost souls are in danger, but Jesus completely saves. He will lift us out this overwhelming worldly system, for enemy forces obey Him. Jesus wants to be your Savior. Will you be saved today?

     Rowe, a prolific writer with more than 9,000 published hymns, poems, recitations, and other works, penned this lasting hymn. His thought provoking and spiritually rich words, written over one hundred years ago, still minister the love of God to many today.

     I love the deep, powerful words of old hymns. They never grow old or redundant. Singing hymns and spiritual songs makes melody in our hearts. Let’s remember God’s love that lifted us and completely saved us from sin!

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Ephesians 5:19
